Last month, the show "A Piece of the Game" aired several times across the nation. There was a great segment about my grandfather, Charles "Babe" Adams ... yes, with ME being interviewed. Now that the Fox Sports and Comcast Sports airings are finished, I can post this video! Take a look - the whole show is awesome! (my part starts at 2:35) And be sure to go to A Piece of the Game and "like" it on Facebook! http://vimeo.com/103355297
The first airing of the 1/2 hour program "A Piece of the Game" aired yesterday, August 2, 2014. The Babe Adams segment is the first segment. Look for it after a White Sox game, or stay tuned here for a link to the show! www.apieceofthegame.tv I am NOT a fan of seeing myself on TV or even hearing a recording of myself. But I got the story out there so maybe it will spark an interest in his story and legacy!
Also, I saw a new picture of the Bethany, MO mural in the Bethany Chamber of Commerce Facebook page! Here's the pic - and check out Bethany Chamber of Commerce FB page and "like" it!
I'm traveling a few times this summer, unfortunately not to Cooperstown! Someday..... but I am planning on drafting the letter to the Hall of Fame this week. Any help would be appreciated! I want the best arguments for "The Babe" getting into the Hall of Fame. Important stats, records he still holds, etc.
Yesterday I was a part of the filming of an upcoming episode of the Emmy Award-winning TV show called "A Piece of the Game." They filmed a segment about Babe Adams and showed some of my memorabilia. I love this show -- the producers, hosts, and staff were all very professional and kind to everyone, even me, who is very camera shy! This will be a great show which will most likely air in August. All in a day's work to help get The Babe in the Hall of Fame!
I am so impressed with the Hall of Fame -- they responded to my inquiry about how to ensure "Babe" Adams gets into the HOF within a day! There is a process, which I am starting today with the help of my cousin Fred and my husband Mark. Letter writing, research, and a little begging perhaps! It seems that the process for players from his era (the "Pre-Integration Era") takes a couple of years, the next vote being in the Fall of 2015. I'm on it!

Today I launched the "Babe Adams" website, thanks to many, many people! It is still a work in progress. But with the "A Piece of the Game" television show taping this Sunday 6/22/14, the completion of the written biography, the finalized versions of Eric's music, and hearing from the Hall of Fame with instructions on how to begin the process of ensuring "The Babe" a spot among the legends in Cooperstown, I wanted to have a bit of a personal touch. Feel free to comment!
